You haven’t had cake until you’ve had a custom creation from Take the Cake by Kay. All of our custom designed cakes can be made in our wide variety of fillings and flavors. Unlike some bakeries who only offer a select list of flavors and  jelly fillings – we offer an almost unlimited seletion of options.

Each tier on our cakes is made up of three layers of our moist, heavenly cake with a double-shot of mousse filling in between. (Most bakeries only use two layers of cake and don’t offer unique fillings.) Each bite is packed full of flavor and deliciousness … there’s rarely a crumb left on the plate.

Cake Fillings

Once you know the flavor of your cake, then choose a filling. This is what will go in-between the cake layers. We use traditional and non-traditional fillings for cakes, depending on the taste you want.

Buttercream filling

All of our cakes are iced with buttercream frosting. This can also be used in-between each cake layer, instead of mousse filling , if you want.

Icing our custom cakes

We exclusively use buttercream icing to frost our wedding cakes. While some brides initially want fondant icing to match the “magazine cakes,” we’ve found time after time that buttercream tastes much better and looks just as great. Buttercream is a smooth, luscious icing full of flavor. The smooth, flawless matte finish of  fondant cakes can be achieved by using buttercream. It’s our policy to bake cakes that LOOK and TASTE great. That’s why we’re a buttercream-only bakery.
